Joint Research Activity 2 - Optimisation of nanoparticle traceability and reliable labelling strategies

The key objectives are:

  • Development of strategies to radiolabel the priority nanoparticles (SiO2, TiO2, CeO2, Polystyrene, ZnO) whilst also maintaining their dispersability and surface characteristics;
  • Development of strategies to isotope label the priority nanoparticles (SiO2, TiO2, CeO2, ZnO, CdS/Se) whilst also maintaining their dispersability and surface characteristics;
  • Development of strategies to fluorescently label the priority nanoparticles (SiO2, TiO2, CeO2, Polystyrene, ZnO), ensuring that the labels do not elute from the nanoparticles, whilst also maintaining their dispersability and surface characteristics;
  • Development of strategies to near-infrared (NIR) label the priority nanoparticles (SiO2, TiO2, CeO2, Polystyrene, ZnO), ensuring that the labels do not elute from the nanoparticles, whilst also maintaining their dispersability and surface characteristics.
